Job Summary

Gonzaba Medical Group is seeking a skilled Vascular Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality vascular ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exam Preparation: Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns to ensure a smooth and efficient exam process.
  • Ultrasound Imaging: Produce high-quality sonographic views of specific areas as required by departmental procedures, adhering to IAC and departmental protocols.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the technical quality of exams, ensuring proper sonography techniques are used for each view/exam.
  • Clerical Functions: Perform administrative tasks, including answering phones, copying, scanning, and faxing, as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report equipment malfunctions to the Radiology Supervisor and ensure all equipment is in working order.
  • Quality Assurance: Report quality issues to the Medical Director, Imaging Services Manager, and QC committee.
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional customer service, exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other modalities when available and maintain strict confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years' experience in vascular ultrasound in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Certifications: Completion of an accredited ultrasound program, current CPR/Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification, and one of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT(VS)).
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word Processing software, database software, spreadsheet software, and Internet software, with RIS/PAC program knowledge required and EMR software experience preferred.
Physical Demands

The Vascular Imaging Specialist must be able to perform manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Close vision and ability to adjust focus are also required.
