Geisinger Medical Laboratories seeks a skilled Lab Specimen Collector to join our team in Muncy, PA. This per diem opportunity offers flexibility and variety in a dynamic laboratory setting.

About the Role
This position is responsible for collecting high-quality lab specimens from patients across various age groups, from neonates to adults. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients during blood draws.

Key Responsibilities
• Collect blood specimens via venipunctures and skin punctures according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines
• Perform accessioning procedures accurately to ensure specimen identification
• Recognize and resolve discrepancies as necessary
• Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability
• Handle and replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols
• Navigate multiple computer applications as needed

Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year-related work experience
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
