Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics York

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at WellSpan Health in York, PA. As a Pediatric LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to children and families in our community.

Job Summary:

The LPN will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. You will be responsible for administering medications, performing various medical procedures, and educating patients and families on health and wellness.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient history and gather information to inform care decisions
  • Perform specialized procedures, examinations, and tests as ordered and aligned with the Ambulatory Clinical Scope Document
  • Ensure all patient care areas are adequately stocked with unexpired supplies and medications
  • Relay information and facilitate communication between the provider and the patient
  • Reinforce health education, counseling, and advice to patients and families on topics such as healthy lifestyle changes
  • Evaluate patient's/caller's health status based upon presenting symptoms and follows defined protocols
  • Tracks, reviews, and monitors the follow-up of diagnostic test results to ensure the physician/APP have verified results and patient has been notified
  • Provides related education, counseling, ongoing review, and monitoring regarding diagnostic tests under the collaboration of the Physician/APP
  • Assists in the management of patient care between visits
  • Completes necessary paperwork, prior authorizations, and/or scheduling of appointments for patients who are ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services
  • Maintains patient records to ensure accurate documentation of the patient's medical treatment
Requirements:
  • Diploma Program Certificate of completion (degree or diploma) from an accredited LPN program
  • 1 year Clinical nursing experience
  • Licensed Practical Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
