Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Sheraton Reston. As a key member of our Engineer department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the hotel's facilities are in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel rooms and public areas to identify repair needs.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  • Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
  • Paint designated areas and items as needed.
  • Respond promptly to engineering service calls and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and document all parts used and needed.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED and training in building maintenance.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent numbers of education and production experience preferred.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
  • Ability to understand and comply with proper preventive maintenance and repair policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Ability to properly use engineering tools and supplies.
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner, identify and investigate issues, and resolve basic matters.
