FULL TIME AFFORDABLE HOUSING MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST - 24 HOURS PER WEEK - MONDAY - FRIDAY $17.00 Hourly


Are you experienced in housekeeping, landscaping, and equipment upkeep? This essential Facilities Maintenance Specialist role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including ensuring our 26-unit Affordable Living Community, its grounds, and equipment are well-maintained.

Daily responsibilities include addressing work order requests and ensuring a safe environment for staff, residents, and visitors. We would love to discuss how your experience in environmental services aligns with the needs of our Affordable Housing Community. This position may require on-call weekend and vacation emergency availability.

Responsibilities:
Assists in the general maintenance and housekeeping at assigned campus/property.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that buildings, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained for the comfort, safety, and convenience of those served. Provide recommendations to enhance the quality of services offered.

Respond to and repair items indicated on work order requests with minimal assistance.

Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair on equipment and plumbing; document and update schedules as necessary.

Execute unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.

Conduct internal housekeeping and external groundskeeping functions, including lawn care and snow removal.

Prepare and clean vacant apartments/rooms.

Maintain inventory of supplies and submit orders to the supervisor.

Additional Duties:
May be required to provide transportation services to residents as needed.

Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

One year of general maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to display compassion and sensitivity to those served.

Ability to maintain a supportive role when interacting with individuals; intervenes when appropriate.

Ability to communicate effectively with individuals served, the community, the general public, vendors, and contractors.

Ability and willingness to work constructively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Ability to carry out detailed work, preventative work schedules, and perform routine maintenance.

Ability to prioritize work orders as emergencies arise and manage frequent changes in circumstances.

Ability to read, speak, and write English. Ability to understand and evaluate proposals and bids from contractors. Able to read and comprehend labels and instructions for the use of equipment in written, oral, and diagram form.

May be required to perform basic arithmetic functions such as addition, multiplication, and subtraction.

Additional Work Requirements:

May be required to participate in "on-call" availability.

May be required to work extended hours, weekends, and evenings.

Valid unrestricted driver's license, good driving record, and valid automobile insurance.
