Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Coordinator to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our infection prevention program, you will play a critical role in assisting our Infection Prevention Nurse with surveillance, reporting, and reduction of healthcare-acquired infections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Infection Prevention Nurse in reviewing and following up on infection prevention program activities.
  • Conduct surveillance related to infection prevention and control, and critically evaluate data to identify trends, outbreaks, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Infection Prevention Nurse and Clinical Continuous Improvement Specialists to review, coordinate, and implement counter-measures for improvement and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
  • Submit infection prevention and patient safety data to regulatory bodies and in accordance with the Infection Prevention Program goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Infection Prevention policies, procedures, and practices, and assist with day-to-day compliance.
  • Participate in the Infection Prevention Committee and assist with the review and revision of hospital and department-specific Infection Prevention policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse, current in the State of Iowa.
  • A minimum of five years of professional nursing experience required.
  • A minimum of two years of progressive clinical and leadership experiences that demonstrate success in nursing and/or expanded clinical roles, preferred.
