The General Service Technician is a key member of the Pep Boys team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and performing a variety of automotive services. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair basic automotive issues, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and battery checks.
- Install and repair tires, including mounting and balancing.
- Assist customers with vehicle inspections and provide recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.
Working Conditions
The General Service Technician will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent exposure to weather conditions, chemicals, and other hazards. The ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy equipment is required.
