Job Description:

The Unix Services team at DOJ provides a Platform as Service (PaaS) hosting environment for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and AIX customers. This position requires a Top Secret national security clearance and involves working 3 to 4 days per week at a client location in Merrifield, VA or an alternate site in Washington DC.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain documentation of platform service processes, procedures, and artifacts
  • Build, configure, upgrade, maintain, secure, decommission, and maintain RHEL server infrastructure
  • Plan installation, configuration, and testing storage subsystems (NFS, SANs)
  • Perform systems operation support, including system monitoring, patching, backup, restore, troubleshooting, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, and other administrative duties
  • Support application upgrades and participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Provide expertise and assistance in migrations to managed services and deploy new tools as identified
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active Top Secret National Security Clearance
  • Master's Degree with 8+ years' experience or Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience
  • Related certifications preferred
  • Expertise with RHEL version 7 and above, RHEL Satellite Server, and Ansible
  • Experience with RHEL administration and monitoring tools, patching, STIG, and continuous monitoring
  • Usable knowledge of networking and networking architecture
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize critical tasks
