Job Summary:
Skookum Contract Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
- Responsible for replacing lamps and ballasts.
- Responsible for cleaning lighting fixtures, replacing receptacles, various switches and other connections and performing miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
- Minor electrical installations and repairs including, but not limited to; outlet repair and/or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors and ground fault interruptions, etc.
- Performs routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Keep records of maintenance, work performed, and cost of work.
- Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
- Must be able to work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
- Must have the ability to distinguish between different wire colors.
- Must be able to drive up to a 1-ton pickup truck with trailer.
- Must wear PPE as required.
- Additional general maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Remove and replace wiring and conduit as required.
- Be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E.
Requirements:
- Electrician certificate.
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain one.
- Must be willing to work outside normal working hours (back shift and weekends) with notice.
- Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, and perform repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
- A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
- Must have the ability to acquire Secret Security Clearance as required.
