About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Cancer Data Specialist to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As a key member of our cancer registry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer data, while also providing exceptional support to our patients, physicians, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Finding and Data Collection: Conduct thorough case finding to identify patients with malignant and benign reportable conditions, and maintain accurate and complete cancer registry data.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and interpret complex data, and prepare routine and special reports for medical staff, hospital administration, and regulatory agencies.
  • Quality Assurance and Auditing: Perform data quality assurance and auditing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data, and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with physicians, administrators, and other departments to ensure seamless data collection and reporting, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or equivalent credits (60 college-level credits)
  • Certification: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Cancer Registrars Association, with certification maintained in good standing
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
