Fabrication Technician

We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. in Lenox, Iowa. As a Fabrication Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing equipment and items related to sanitary food manufacturing.

• Fabricate required equipment, conveyors, guards, piping, and other items used in sanitary food manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with safety work rules, food safety, and quality standards, including USDA and OSHA regulations.
• Work with departments to improve processes through repair, redesign, or manufacture.
• Improve or resolve ergonomics issues by redesign or manufacture.
• Improve equipment and shop efficiencies in manufacture.
• Gain technical knowledge and skills to be a proficient fabrication operator.
• Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.

• Knowledge of TIG, MIG, and stick welding procedures.
• Knowledge of types of stainless steel and their use in sanitary conditions.
• Ability to read, understand, and build from blueprints.
• Ability to manufacture from measurements or visual representations.
• Good communication skills, work ethics, attitude, and self-motivation.
• Ability to use measurement tools, such as tape measure, caliper, levels, and laser levels.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and crawl.
• Ability to read and understand operations manuals and follow oral or written instructions.

This position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. The ability to lift up to 100 pounds is required.
