Senior Mechanical Engineer

We have an opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Materials and Structural Analysis Semiconductor Business Unit based in Hillsboro, OR.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and diverse engineers and scientists to lead hardware development of customized, high-value microscopes with exceptional precision.
  • Develop electromechanical systems from requirements to production release with concept layout, detailed design, analysis and testing as appropriate with a strong emphasis on precision design.
  • Lead prototype all builds to manufacturing release, including selecting sources, procuring material, installation, and qualification.
  • Provide mechanical scoping and guidance for new projects, product customizations, and potential portfolio changes.
  • Support release to production including all documentation required to source and manufacture product.
  • Lead improvements in tools, processes and standard methodologies.
  • Provide innovative solutions to design challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience leading the development of complex capital, and/or metrology, equipment.
  • Advanced degrees highly desired and may substitute for experience.
  • Track record of releasing complex products to production, with a demonstrated focus on high quality and meeting aggressive project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment development.
  • Successful track record leading multi-functional technical teams.
  • Experience with metrology, motion systems, machine vision, vacuum systems, ceramics, high voltage, wafer handling, automation and/or charged particle systems.
  • Experience with technology development and qualification.
  • Proficiency with CAE.
