Optical Inspection Technician

Job Overview:
The role involves conducting thorough optical and mechanical inspections and maintaining documentation for precision optical components during the final assembly phase.
Responsibilities encompass both incoming and final inspections.Additionally, the technician will oversee the execution of first article inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation and certifications for products are prepared for final shipments in compliance with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary tasks include the following: Familiarity with surface quality standards as per MIL /5,20/10,40/20,60/40,80/50.
Proficiency in operating mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, drop gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, measuring loops, microscopes, and CMM inspection equipment for both in-process and final inspections of assembled components.
Clean optical components as required for inspection and final assembly.Ability to interpret optical and mechanical drawings for component inspection and assembly in accordance with drawing specifications. The technician must also be capable of following the MRB process for the manufacturing review board to determine the appropriate disposition of components.

Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Competence in Microsoft Office and Excel is required.
Education and Experience: A high school diploma is mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of experience in optical or mechanical inspection of components is required. 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is essential. 1 to 2 years of experience in optical manufacturing is preferred. At least 1 year of experience in optical inspection of coated optics is advantageous.
Availability to work overtime as needed to fulfill end-of-month shipment requirements.Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and document findings accurately.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a workstation and using a computer.
Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to navigate various departments within the organization.
This position requires on-site presence, with no remote work options available.
