Job Summary
This role will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare, dispense, and compound medication. The successful candidate will provide prescription support services to patients, ensuring safe and effective delivery of medication therapy. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Prepare and dispense medication accurately, following established procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering phones and communicating with patients.
- Assist with inventory management, maintain a clean work environment, and perform administrative duties as assigned.
- Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
This position requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active certification, or Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice. Minimal experience is preferred, typically gained through 0-2 years of relevant work experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with proficiency in computer software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Proficiency in third-party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation is also preferred. Experience with non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous drug compounding is a plus.
