The Supervisor of Academic Instruction Correctional Facility will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of programs; on-site monitoring and evaluation of education programs; and reviewing educational processes and making recommendations on teaching resources and instructional methods.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of education programs.
- Monitor and evaluate education programs on-site.
- Review educational processes and make recommendations on teaching resources and instructional methods.
- Assist with education teacher hiring, staff development, and program implementation.
- Participate with educational and custodial staff in finding effective solutions to education programming issues.
- Possession of a valid standard administration or supervision credential or a credential or life diploma of equivalent authorization issued under authority of the Commission for Teacher Preparation and Licensing.
- Two years of administrative, supervisory, or academic teaching experience in an elementary or a secondary school system.
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
