Registered Nurse I, Acute Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse I, Acute Care to join our team at Bassett Healthcare Network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of safe and effective nursing services.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings.
- Collect, analyze, and record relevant patient health data accurately.
- Identify patient problems and develop individualized plans of care.
- Implement and record interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust plans of care as needed.
- Adhere to approved, research-based practice standards.
- Direct and supervise patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel.
- Demonstrate consideration of safety, effective utilization of equipment and materials, and cost in managing patient care.
- Enter accurate documentation of all patient care activities.
- Perform and document Point of Care (POC) testing and quality control.
- Maintain and document testing reagents/supplies and equipment.
- Advocate for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity, and rights.
- Deliver care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.
- Assure that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures.
- Act on behalf of patients in an ethical manner.
- Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.
- Provide proof of current licensure validation to supervisor.
- Complete required unit credentialing according to departmental policy.
- Participate in level-appropriate number of hours of educational activity related to job function annually.
- Participate in nursing research.
- Commit to an attitude of inquiry, research-based practice, and the advancement of nursing science.

- 4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
- New graduate or less than one year of experience as an Registered Nurse, required
- NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit, required
- BLS certification will be required within 6 months
