Position Summary

  • The Ultrasonographer, either independently or under a physician's guidance, conducts ultrasound examinations and provides patient care that necessitates independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in applying designated ultrasound methods for diagnostic and interventional purposes. This role encompasses responsibility for diagnostic ultrasound, interventional procedures, and other examination techniques, with the autonomy to select and adjust technical parameters to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Required: Graduate or eligible for graduation (successful completion of all theoretical courses and clinical competencies) from an accredited medical sonography program. Experience may be considered for candidates without formal education in medical sonography.
  • Experience
    • Required: One year of dedicated ultrasound experience OR no experience required with completion of educational prerequisites.
    • Preferred: Two years of focused sonography imaging experience.
  • Skills
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities across various management levels.
    • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within teams.
    • Proficient in computer systems and applications; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Familiarity with current information technology to facilitate large-scale automation projects.
    • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, prioritization, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Proof of successful completion of ARDMS or ARRT examination.
    • Required: R.T. (S) (ARRT) or ARDMS (AB) (OB/GY), (VT) or (MSKS). Verification within three months of employment through ARDMS or ARRT website.
    • Required: Must acquire BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
