Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team in Northridge, CA. As a key member of our Advanced Weapons team, you will be responsible for developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E
- Experience with application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment, and procedures
- Develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements
- Collaborate with team members to define and architect secured missile weapon systems
- Participate in risk assessments, resolution, and mishap investigations
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 5 years of relevant experience or MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with electrical circuit design
- Experience with application of MIL-STD-882E
- History of demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to work independently, and effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit schematics
- Experience with implementing and testing software safety requirements
- Experience in the design of missile systems
- Strong working knowledge of military system safety and process standards
