About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Gateway Post Acute. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities.

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Specialist will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public and common areas, including but not limited to, lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, floors, resident rooms, and bathrooms. You will also be responsible for maintaining handrails, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash cans, and replacing liners.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain all public and common areas, including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, floors, resident rooms, and bathrooms
  • Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners
  • Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents
  • Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following user manual instructions
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred
  • Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions
  • Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
