Key Responsibilities:
As an Activity Instructor, your role will encompass a variety of essential functions, including:
1.
Monitoring program effectiveness for assigned clients, which involves regular communication with families, facilitating staff meetings, and guiding clients through personal and professional challenges.
2.Conducting assessments and creating individualized program plans tailored to each client's needs.
3. Developing and maintaining engaging educational curriculums that are age-appropriate and meaningful.4. Providing assistance in personal self-care, including daily living activities such as feeding, transferring, and toileting.5.
Completing necessary documentation and reports to ensure compliance with service standards.
6. Organizing and implementing community-based activities, including transportation arrangements.7. Offering training and support in various vocational and recreational settings.8. Ensuring adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.
9. Operating necessary equipment to facilitate client activities.
10. Reporting any suspected abuse as mandated.
11. Performing additional duties as required to enhance program efficiency.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting working with individuals with disabilities.
Additional Requirements for Licensed Programs:
Successful completion of a criminal background check, TB screening, physician's evaluation, and certifications in First Aid and CPR are mandatory.
Supervision:
This position reports to the Program Coordinator or Site Manager and does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Skills:
1. Strong ability to connect with individuals with disabilities and their families.
2. Proficient in observation, evaluation, and documentation.
3. Experience in developing and utilizing educational materials.
4. Capability to teach social skills and work habits.
5. Familiarity with community resources for client support.
6. Basic computer skills.
Work Environment:
This role involves time spent in educational settings and regular community engagement, including driving and exposure to various weather conditions. It may also require handling personal care needs and occasional lifting.
