Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits, perform limited procedures, and schedule diagnostic tests or consults.
  • Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations, as defined on the competency checklist.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate and implement plans for patient care.
  • Record patient history and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as registration, scheduling, and processing insurance forms.
  • Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, and document in medical records.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 14 days.
  • Preferred: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or NCRMA.
