Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As an ED Technician, you will provide specialized assistance to nurses and physicians, administering tests and therapeutic procedures. You will interact with acutely ill and unstable patients, providing lifesaving interventions in traumatic injuries and medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with resuscitation and emergency airway procedures
Perform venipuncture to obtain blood specimens
Assist physicians and nurses with technical support for patient care
Report on patient condition to supervisors and staff members
Assist with patient transport and vital sign documentation
Obtain 12-lead EKGs and assist with wound care and Foley catheter insertion
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
6 months to 1-year experience as an ED Technician or previous EMS experience
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and staff members
Work Environment:
As an ED Technician at Albany Medical Center, you will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with a high volume of patients. You will be required to stand, walk, and use your hands for various job functions. Regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands for various job functions, and occasionally required to sit, kneel, or crouch.
