Position Overview:
Under the general oversight of the Public Health Nursing Manager, the Vaccination Nurse is responsible for executing and managing the daily initiatives, services, and operations of the Nursing Division.

The Vaccination Nurse employs independent judgment to make decisions impacting the Health Department's functions, adhering to established National, State, and Local regulations, as well as Health Department policies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of patient needs.
- Administer immunizations and provide education to patients.
- Engage in outreach clinics and community health initiatives.
- Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Nursing Manager or Administrator.

Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to:
- Apply sound judgment in following established protocols and directives.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the services provided by the Grant County Health Department.
- Utilize office equipment efficiently to access client records and billing information.
- Maintain professionalism and respect in interactions with peers, patients, and supervisors, especially in challenging situations.
- Comfortably interact with infants, children, and their guardians, providing education and vaccination in a reassuring manner.
- Present information effectively in various settings, including one-on-one and group situations.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.

Qualifications:
- Current, valid Medical Assistant certification, Indiana LPN license, or Indiana RN license is required.

Work Schedule:
- Flexible hours within office operations: PRN M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with potential weekend or evening hours as necessary.

Employment Status:
- Part-time/PRN, up to 25 hours per week.

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to walk; may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus as needed.

Work Environment:
- Duties are performed in both office and field settings, including indoor institutional environments and occasionally outdoor residential and business locations.
