Software Engineer Leader

We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to lead our search infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of search algorithms and infrastructure, including retrieval augmented generation (RAG), semantic search using embeddings, text indexing and retrieval, query understanding, and various ranking algorithms.
Your Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and oversee our enterprise search infrastructure, leveraging a mix of vector databases, full-text search engines, and relational database techniques.
- Analyze user information needs by developing deep learning-based NLP algorithms to analyze, reformulate, and suggest search queries effectively.
- Implement and deploy various ranking algorithms to deliver the most relevant results with the best user experience.
- Evaluate and optimize algorithm accuracy by focusing on key metrics.
- Track and analyze end-to-end system performance, leading improvement initiatives as required.
- Holds a Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field; a PhD is a plus.
- Has 5+ years of experience in search, recommendation, or question-answering systems.
- Has in-depth knowledge of relevance measurement, tuning, and modeling.
- Is an expert in Python and/or C++.
- Excels at problem-solving and has attention to detail.
- Has excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical team members.
- Can work individually and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with embedding-based search systems is a major advantage.
- Experience with large language models and RAG systems is a plus.

Salary Range: $185,000 to $210,000 USD per year.
This salary range represents the low and high end of the estimated salary range for this position.
