Job Title: Pierce Postdoctoral Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Colorado State University. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Jeff Pierce and his research group to investigate the impact of agricultural land use on fine and coarse particulate matter in the US.

Job Summary

The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for collecting and analyzing satellite and in-situ observations of particulate matter, as well as model/reanalysis estimates of PM. They will develop algorithms to combine model and observational data to determine best estimates of fine and course particulate matter across the US over time. The successful candidate will also be expected to publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, present results at scientific meetings and conferences, and publish and present summaries of results for the general public.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze satellite and in-situ observations of particulate matter

Requirements
  • PhD from an accredited college or university in Atmospheric Sciences or related field
  • Three or more years of graduate research experience conducting independent scientific research in the topic area related to air pollution
  • Expertise in analysis of satellite data, ground-monitor data, and chemical-transport model output
  • Background in atmospheric aerosol sources, sinks, and transport
