Substance Use Prevention Professional

Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health is dedicated to delivering innovative behavioral health services that positively impact individual and community well-being. As a Prevention Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating positive change in local communities.
About the RoleThis critical position requires someone who thrives on collaboration, demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, and is committed to improving community health outcomes. The successful candidate will serve as a vital resource for community coalitions, providing technical assistance and support to develop effective strategies for addressing substance use patterns.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with community-based coalitions to develop and implement substance use prevention strategies.
- Provide technical assistance and training resources to enhance coalition capabilities.
- Develop comprehensive community and coalition needs assessments.
- Create and update strategic work plans to address local prevention priorities.
- Coordinate and participate in prevention-focused training and resource networks.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A Master's Degree in social work, counseling, public health, education, psychology, community development, public administration or a closely related field.
- OR Bachelor's Degree in the above fields with at least one (1) year professional experience in a social service agency.
- OR Associate's Degree with at least two (2) years of professional experience in a social service agency.
- Must obtain Missouri Substance Abuse Prevention Associate (MSAPA) credential within six (6) months of hire.
- Must attend Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within nine (9) months of hire.
Southeast Missouri Behavioral Health offers an attractive compensation package, including:
