Job Summary:

Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes, ensuring compliance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. A clean and safe vehicle is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the vehicle in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations, as well as company expectations for the Fleet.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report), noting any issues for corrective review/repair.
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  • Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
