Unit DescriptionOur units, encompassing both 4 East and 4 North, are designed to accommodate a total of 40 beds, with nurse-patient ratios maintained between 4:1 and 5:1. We specialize in the care of patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures and those requiring ongoing management of long-term devices.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Deliver effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team, managing treatment plans and collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Clinical Competence: Exhibit a commitment to expanding clinical knowledge and skills, while providing expert assessment and care planning.
- Leadership Development: Assume a beginning leadership role, actively seeking mentorship and guidance in professional growth.
- Quality Improvement: Engage in performance improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical documentation standards.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and support the onboarding of new team members.
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required within five years of hire.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience is necessary.
Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia and possess American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, engage in frequent movement, and perform tasks that involve bending and lifting. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
