Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment services for adult patients referred for speech, language, and/or cognitive disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurogenic communication disorders and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine and evaluate patient's communication using formal and informal clinical evaluations.
  • Identify speech, language, and cognitive disorders and associated dysfunctions.
  • Develop a treatment plan with treatment goals directed towards maximizing function.
  • Consult with other members of the health care team to ensure coordination and effectiveness of therapies provided.
  • Assist with implementation of triaging and prioritizing referrals and discharges to and from the service as assigned.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills necessary to manage patient caseloads and care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation per departmental policy and format.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to formulate policies, procedures, and program development.
  • Supervise graduate student interns and support personnel as appropriate.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
  • Possess or be eligible for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology from the state of Massachusetts.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the diagnosis and remediation of neurogenic communication disorders preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Must possess effective communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with patients, colleagues, and other health care personnel.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands.
  • Must possess the physical abilities needed to assist with moving patients and to push portable workstations if necessary.
