Position Summary:
IMS People is in search of a Research Associate dedicated to the production and purification of antibodies and therapeutic proteins. This role is situated within a collaborative team environment, focusing on advancing our innovative approaches in bioconjugation.
About Us:
Our Emeryville site, previously known as Redwood Bioscience, specializes in cutting-edge bioconjugation technologies, including our proprietary SMARTag platform. This technology enables site-specific modifications for next-generation antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), currently in clinical development.
Team Dynamics:
Our research facility is composed of a dynamic group of scientists who work closely together to meet our objectives and drive progress in therapeutic drug development. We emphasize the importance of publishing our findings and contributing to the evolving field of bioconjugation.
Core Responsibilities:
As a Research Associate, you will be expected to:
- Conduct hands-on cloning, mammalian cell culture, and aseptic techniques.
- Perform various cloning methods, including Gibson assembly, and manage DNA preparations.
- Support protein production through transient transfection at both small and large scales.
- Utilize Vi-CELL, Octet, and HPLC for protein analysis.
- Engage in protein characterization assays, including concentration measurements and SDS-PAGE.
- Apply purification techniques for antibodies and other proteins.
- Operate AKTA instruments effectively.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with relevant experience.
- At least one year of experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in sterile environments.
