Special Education Teacher Leader Role

At Puzzle HR, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Special Education Teacher to join our mission-driven team.
About the JobWe offer a competitive salary range of $67,000 - $73,710 per year, with comprehensive benefits including generous paid time off, 9 sick days, 4 personal days, and 12 holidays.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and assisting with Behavior Management Guidelines (BMGs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to meet each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Student Supervision: Ensure the supervision and safety of students at all times.
- CALM Certification: Maintain CALM certification and use CALM techniques for student safety.
- ABA Concepts: Demonstrate proficiency in foundational ABA concepts and skills.
- Teaching Credentials: Maintain teaching credentials.
- Quality Work: Produce high-quality work with minimal errors.
- Teamwork: Recognize and acknowledge the contributions and achievements of others.
- Field Trips: Plan and organize quarterly field trips and weekly community outings.
- Documentation: Update necessary documentation (e.g., Salesforce) per established protocols.
- Student Support: Assist students with Activities of Daily Living (e.g., showering, toileting).
- Swimming Activities: Participate in swimming activities with students.
- Essential Items: Ensure students have essential items throughout the school day (e.g., meals, toothbrushes, water bottles, AAC devices, edible reinforcers, extra clothes).
- Lifting: Lift up to half of your own body weight.
- Driving: Drive students and staff in school vehicles to community locations as needed.
- Classroom Participation: Ensure classroom participation in zones during arrival and dismissal.
- Employee Handbook: Adhere to the Crossroads Employee Handbook and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Staffing Schedules: Develop staffing and classroom schedules to ensure proper IEP implementation.
- Leadership: Take a leadership role at all times (in the classroom, during school events, and on community outings).
- Home Notes: Read and initial home notes for each student every morning after arrival.
- Transition Plans: Assist in the development of transition plans.
- Clinical Programming: Ensure staff implement clinical and educational programming with high fidelity.
- Performance Evaluations: Conduct annual performance evaluations for ABATs.
- Classroom Organization: Maintain a well-organized classroom, ensuring professional presentation of student notebooks, supplies, and materials.
- Masters Degree: Master's degree in education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
- Massachusetts Teaching Certification: MUST hold a Massachusetts teaching certification, including a moderate-severe certification.
- Teaching Experience: 3-5 years of teaching experience in autism or special education (preferred).
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Compassion: Compassionate, hardworking, and punctual.
- Nonprofit Career: Interest in building a career in nonprofit service for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Calm Training: Ability to successfully complete CALM training, which includes lifting half of body weight, pivoting, squatting, kneeling, and supporting student weight.
