Job Summary

Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Head Start Disability Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Head Start performance standards within the area of specialization, Services for Children with Disabilities, Early Childhood Development, Child Mental Health Services, Family and Community Partnerships, ERSEA, Disability, and other contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure compliance within the area of specialization.
  • Coordinate and participate in School Readiness Reviews (SRR) and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver training for staff and parents within the area of specialization.
  • Monitor and provide oversight and guidance when necessary in the interpretation and implementation of content areas.
  • Perform management and administrative functions to ensure delivery of program objectives and requirements within the area of specialization.
  • Work with community partners and others to develop initiatives that promote positive community relations.
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement Head Start rules and regulations within the area of specialty.
  • Ensure that the performance standards and procedures are followed within the area of specialization.
  • Monitor and review collaborative partnerships to ensure delivery of services.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports to the Board of Directors, Policy Council, or special committees as requested by the Head Start Director.
  • Travel between sites to complete work, attend meetings, and professional development seminars.
  • Serve as WBCO/Head Start representative on committees, boards, community groups, and businesses.
  • Develop policies and procedures for content area.
  • Attend Behavioral Management meetings with Comprehensive Services Support Specialist and teachers.
  • Write behavior plans for ASQ-SE.
  • Responsible for referral documentation for children/families with developmental concerns.
  • Ensure safety is a priority in performing all job responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and IDEA regulations.
  • Assure 10% of enrollment of children with disabilities into the Head Start program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mental Health or related field.
  • Current state license as a Mental Health Professional (must be current during employment).
  • Four (4) years of related professional experience in the social services or related.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Obtain and keep current adult and pediatric CPR and first aid certifications.
Working Conditions
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly.
  • Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required.
