The Senior Behavioral Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering advanced clinical and supervisory services while exercising considerable autonomy and independent judgment.

This position involves overseeing the training and clinical supervision of staff pursuing licensure as behavior analysts. The analyst is responsible for the professional growth of Behavioral Health Specialists, including training in applied behavior analysis service delivery.

Additionally, this role may encompass departmental leadership responsibilities, including managing business operations and supervising team members.

Key responsibilities include coordinating technical consultations for staff dealing with residents exhibiting complex high-risk behaviors that necessitate sophisticated intervention strategies.

Moreover, the analyst will develop and maintain advanced data systems to adhere to regulatory requirements, including crisis intervention protocols.

The role also entails evaluating and approving functional behavioral assessments and behavior support plans, as well as assessing the implementation of these plans through direct observation and documentation review.

Staying informed about relevant laws, regulations, and agency policies is essential for overseeing the development and execution of compliant systems and procedures.

The work schedule may vary based on operational needs.

Core Responsibilities:

Regular attendance is required, and the analyst may need to work specific shifts or rotating schedules as per agency policy, along with performing additional duties as assigned.

The analyst may also participate in an on-call rotation to meet the facility's operational requirements.


Provides clinical supervision, constructive feedback, and evaluations of trainees' progress to fulfill the standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and the Texas Regulatory Board.

Ensures clinical training hours are met for staff to achieve Board Certified Behavior Analyst status.

Offers advanced technical assistance and training to staff addressing the needs of individuals with complex behavioral, psychiatric, cognitive, developmental, or health-related challenges.

Assists junior analysts with intricate behavioral assessments and treatment strategies.

Designs accountability frameworks to monitor progress in reducing restraints, psychotropic medication usage, and implementing effective positive interventions, including treatment fidelity.

Evaluates the development and execution of behavior support plans and reviews behavioral trend analyses, including the use of restrictive procedures and treatment outcomes.

Plans, assigns, and oversees the work of junior analysts and other assigned personnel to ensure ongoing professional development and positive service delivery outcomes.


Chairs the Behavior Support Committee.

In the absence of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, the analyst may assume leadership responsibilities, providing after-hours support as needed and promptly informing the Director of any significant behavioral service issues.

When necessary, the analyst will manage departmental operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating services with other departments, while supervising staff such as health assistants and behavioral coaches.

Additional responsibilities may include participating in disaster response efforts and ensuring continuity of operations as required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in conducting comprehensive functional behavior assessments and developing behavior support plans.
Expertise in applied behavior analysis and the implementation and evaluation of behavior support strategies.
Familiarity with medications used for behavior management and systems for tracking treatment effectiveness.
Ability to analyze behavioral data and make informed clinical recommendations.
Capacity to train staff in behavioral programming and related areas.
Competence in supervising behavioral and programming staff professionally.
Ability to work independently with significant initiative and judgment.
Knowledge of the delivery of behavioral services to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Understanding of the etiology and characteristics of intellectual disabilities.

Awareness of applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and agency policies related to behavioral services.

Strong writing skills for technical reports, grants, and other relevant documentation.
Leadership capabilities in motivating staff and implementing effective changes.
Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software.
