Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II Float to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our Patient Service Center, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Collection: Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Specimen Preparation: Prepare specimens for lab testing, including labeling, centrifuging, and splitting as required.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of phlebotomists, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest level of performance and productivity.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all specimens are collected and prepared in accordance with established quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Skills: Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and strong customer service skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, with frequent walking and lifting of light to moderately heavy objects. The position also requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
