Job Title: Per Diem Behavioral Health Technician

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Per Diem Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Belmont, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for providing accurate and timely documentation, establishing therapeutic relationships, and participating in patient rounds.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including Accurate and timely documentation of AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries
  • Participate in patient rounds or teams
  • Complete patient care assignments
  • Identify patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis; utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations
  • Intervene in managing complex patient situations and patient schedules, utilizing department policies and procedures, always promoting the least restrictive alternatives
  • Communicate changes in patient status to RN
  • Follow Standards of Care and protocols for assigned patients
  • Remain awake and alert at all times while on the job
  • Perform Point of Care testing (POC)
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others
  • Previous experience in direct patient care preferred
