Position Overview

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized dealer for Caterpillar in the Mid-Atlantic region, is looking for dedicated Electric Power Generation (EPG) Apprentice Technicians to enhance our skilled workforce.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Undergo comprehensive training to troubleshoot and repair engine and electrical systems associated with generators and transfer switches.
  • Completion of a vocational program in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines is mandatory.
  • Experience with diesel engines or military machinery is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CAT electronic tools and software is a plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines.
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude along with an excellent driving record.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer software for generating service reports.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting heavy machinery.

Upon successful completion of the 15-month apprenticeship program, you will achieve certification as a Construction Equipment Technician, providing vital support to our clientele.
