We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our engineering team in the execution of large commercial, industrial, and utility-scale ground-mount solar projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading different phases of engineering projects, from early stages to detailed engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of electrical engineering packages for construction and maintenance projects
- Collaborate with technical services and renewable services offices to execute large-scale projects
- Design and develop electrical systems, power studies, and technical oversight for various projects
- Manage client interactions, including kickoff meetings, RFPs, and RFIs
- Perform engineering review and calculations, including cable/equipment sizing and grounding design
- Prepare and stamp design drawings/packages, including SLDs, site layouts, and LV/HV details
- Support the team during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with other disciplines and the client to ensure project success
- Quality assurance and responsible for working within jurisdictional and guidelines set for the engineering department
- P.E. designation in the state of Texas
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of direct electrical design and engineering experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in renewable, industrial, and commercial facilities
- Experience with NETA standards and electrical testing projects highly preferred
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code, IEEE, and ANSI Standards
- Proficient in various electrical calculations and software, including CYMCAP, CYMGrd, ETAP, or equivalent
- Working experience with drawing mark-ups and checking own work and others' work
- Successful track record of budget and schedule compliance
- Working knowledge of industry standards and codes related to electrical system deliverables
