Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP) Specialist to join our team at Kansas Children's Service League in Topeka, KS.
About the Role:- The PCAP Specialist will work closely with expectant mothers and newborns who are struggling with substance abuse issues, providing case management services and referring families to treatment and community support services.
- This is a full-time position that comes with a competitive hourly wage of $$18.50 per hour, working Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities.

Kansas Children's Service League is a statewide nonprofit agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the well-being of children. Founded in 1893, we serve thousands of Kansas children and families each year through various programs focused on health, safety, and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage families and establish trusting relationships using a strengths-based approach.
- Complete assessments and create personalized service plans for each mother and infant, working with community professionals to implement the plan.
- Evaluate community services and assist families in accessing resources such as housing and treatment options.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience working with at-risk children and families, including those affected by substance abuse.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage high-risk mothers and their families, conduct sensitive interviews, and maintain confidentiality.
