Workstation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Workstation Technician to join our team at Computer Task Group, Inc. in Rochester, MN.
This is a 2nd Shift position with a 12-month contract, with potential for extension.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Workstation Support Services business units to ensure hardware and software orders are received, configured, scheduled, and installed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Workstation Support Services business units to ensure hardware and software orders are received, configured, scheduled, and installed.
- Ensure equipment is labeled according to specifications.
- Research, verify, and document device specifications according to purchase orders and established standards.
- Work with service and business units to relocate equipment as requested by departments.
- Provide on-site installation, customer service, and technical support for installations and repairs based on department or individual customer requests.
- Serve as a technical and equipment liaison in the field, collaborating with other support services (e.g., Help Desk, Applications, Materials Management).
- Assist with end-user training, explaining basic concepts and procedures related to hardware and software requirements, scheduling, and break/fix options.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for installations or repair requests.
- Collaborate with other IT Infrastructure areas to manage parts inventory.
- Evaluate and process equipment according to IT security policies and guidelines.
- May require overtime and on-call participation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional customer service experience supporting PC, Macintosh, desktop computing hardware, and peripheral equipment.
- Skills must include knowledge of operating systems, hardware configuration, and software installation.
Education:
- High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree; OR two years of Technical School training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
