Job Title: Chemist I or II - Cortez Process Team

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemist I or II to join our Cortez Process team at Nevada Gold Mines. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our chemical analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform QA/QC functions in the laboratory, working closely with laboratory supervisors to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze large sets of QA/QC analytical data, drawing useful conclusions from datasets to inform process improvements.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize laboratory instrumentation to ensure efficient and accurate results.
  • Research and purchase new laboratory instrumentation to stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
  • Supervise vendor field service engineers during service visits, ensuring their safety and the successful completion of tasks.
  • Support laboratory technicians with chemistry and laboratory technical knowledge, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
Requirements:
  • Zero to five years of post-graduate experience, preferably within the mining industry.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Mining industry experience, preferably within a production environment, is a plus.
  • B.S. in Chemistry or equivalent is required, with an M.S. or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook, is required.
  • Oracle R or R12 or similar ERP experience is a plus.
  • LIMS experience is a plus.
