Job Summary:The Pharmacy Technician will assist the licensed Pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
Responsibilities:- Assist the licensed Pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, including filling and dispensing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, including quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Remain current with literature related to pharmacy practices and maintain an updated knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- One (1) year of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- National Pharmacy Technician certification required or other exam approved by State Board of Pharmacy.
- CPR certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with positive relationships with coworkers and customers.
- Good general health and stress coping ability.
- Full mobility and ability to participate in normal activity.
- Demonstrates ability to speak and hear to communicate with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and the public.
- Near vision acuity for accurate reading and ability to inspect and analyze work.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to bend, stoop, and stretch with minimal physical limitation.
The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
