About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Family Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Empower U.. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with developmental disabilities and a passion for supporting families.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct care for children and families with diverse abilities.
  • Assisting families by taking youth out into the community and engaging with others.
  • Developing necessary resources and support systems for families.
  • Assisting youth with daily living activities.
  • Providing peer counseling and understanding conversations.
  • Helping maintain physical needs and a clean-living environment.
  • Working independently and as part of a team.
  • Utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
  • Completing required training and attending respite meetings and supervision meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Preferred degree in Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Special Education.
  • Essential experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Necessary flexible lifestyle allowing working after school, evening, and/or weekend hours.
  • Plus: fluency in languages other than English.
  • Key self-motivation.
  • Crucial ability to multitask throughout the entire shift.
  • Required willingness to travel to neighboring counties within a 10-15-mile radius.
  • Necessary driver's license with a clean abstract.
