Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and experienced travel nurse RN to work in our Telemetry PCU department. As a travel nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including COVID-19, respiratory failure, DKA, renal failure, hypertension emergency, CHF, post-carotid endarterectomy, and post-surgical patients requiring close observation.
- Manage and titrate drips, including amiodarone, Cardizem, precede, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, and Nitro.
- Manage equipment such as Glucommander, Trach to Vents, Bipaps, High flows, salters, Art lines, and bedside cardiac monitors.
- Collaborate with the dialysis nurse to perform dialysis at the bedside.
- Participate in rapid sequence intubation, manage patients on sedation and ETTs, and low-dose pressors if ICU overflow is needed.
- GA License

- Unit: 60230, IMCU
- Ratio/Census: 1:4; 16 Beds with average daily census of 16
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, float to Cardiac Tele unit and Med Surg Pulmonary unit; Can also float to ICU if there is experience or if the IMCU patients in ICU are holds
- Call Requirements: None
- Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
