Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the maintenance team in keeping our buildings and grounds in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.


The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of related experience and/or training, and possess a valid driver's license and insurance. They will be able to read and interpret documents, draft routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.



Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the maintenance team in performing minor plumbing, janitorial, and other related maintenance activities.
  2. Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  3. Pick up trash on grounds and keep breezeways, sidewalks, and grounds clear of clutter and debris.
  4. Assist in cleaning and turnover of vacant apartments.
  5. Conduct move-out inspections and reporting.
  6. Assist in the completion of maintenance requests and update Property Maintenance Log daily.
  7. Perform regular preventative maintenance inspections of all units.
  8. Notify the Community Manager of safety-related issues and lease agreement violations.


Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid Driver's License and insurance.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, draft routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.


The employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit.


The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50-75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.



Cascade requires that in this Maintenance position, the employees supply their own tools to perform maintenance work at worksites. A list of required tools to perform the basic maintenance functions of the job description must be able to be obtained within 60 days of employment.
