Water Resources Manager for Sugarbush Resort

Job Summary:
Sugarbush Resort is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the operations and maintenance of its water and wastewater systems. This critical role involves ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of utility services, while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations, including infrastructure maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Develop and implement budgets to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities department to address snow removal and stormwater management needs.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of critical repair components.
  • Compile and update maintenance schedules and relevant documentation.
  • Address potential environmental and safety hazards at the facilities.
  • Monitor all utility operations to ensure compliance with permit requirements and regulations.
  • Supervise staff in handling service line breaks, plant equipment malfunctions, and emergencies.
  • Oversee major construction and repair projects, including work by outside contractors.
  • Develop operational and capital budgets that meet long-term planning goals.
  • Supervise staff in daily operations and provide training as needed.
  • Work with the Planning Department to ensure permitting and reporting requirements are met.
  • Stay updated on new regulations and technological developments in the field.
  • Maintain customer relations with system users.
Requirements:
  • Grade 2 State of Vermont Wastewater License, Grade 4B State of Vermont Water License, and at least 5 years of experience managing water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Vermont State Lab certification and ability to maintain training hours and hazmat emergency response.
  • Able to use equipment such as pumps, compressors, and laboratory equipment.
  • Good mechanical skills with general knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to gain access to remote areas of the resort without mechanical assistance.
  • Effective communication skills over the telephone, 2-way radio, and in person.
  • Ability to perform heavy work involving exertion up to 100 pounds of force.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Estimated Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year
