Key Responsibilities:
In this specialized unit, you will maintain an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with the possibility of 1:1 care based on patient needs.

You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, advanced practice professionals, clinical nurse specialists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, case managers, and pharmacists.

Your role is crucial in integrating this collaborative approach into each patient's care plan.

In your position, you will:
Gather and assess comprehensive data relevant to the patient's health status to inform diagnoses.

Develop, implement, and coordinate care plans promptly, outlining strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes in a safe environment.

Provide relevant health education to patients and their families as needed.
Monitor progress towards achieving outcomes, systematically enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and patient safety.

Continuously expand your knowledge and competencies to reflect current nursing practices and assess your own performance against professional standards and guidelines.

Engage with and contribute to the professional growth of colleagues, providing leadership within the nursing practice environment.

Incorporate research findings into clinical practice.

Qualifications:
Education

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in novice to advanced beginner clinical nursing practice is required.
Licenses and Certifications

  • Current California Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Refer to the department's specific requirements, orientation skills checklists, and competencies.

Additional Certification Requirements

Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
