Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. Key responsibilities include performing diagnostic echocardiography examinations, demonstrating proficiency in non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams, and preparing and monitoring patients before and during procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart.
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
- Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
- Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
- Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required).
- Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred).
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred).
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred).
