About the Role

Job Summary

Haworth, Inc. is seeking a skilled Paint Line Operator/Loader to join our team in Holland. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our paint line, maintaining inventory, and troubleshooting issues to meet our high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning
    • Access the production schedule to ensure the correct parts are available and verify parts received match the schedule.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain inventory levels to ensure paint availability and use powered industrial trucks, hand trucks, or dollies to load and move materials to the work area.
  • Painting and Finishing
    • Program recipes into paint booths to ensure correct paint coverage for each part and fill containers with prescribed quantities of paint, chemicals, or other materials.
    • Verify correct paints are placed in hoppers and corresponding booths and change out paint/powder as needed.
    • Monitor the paint room computer system to verify painting sequence and all other paint functions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Quality Control
    • Manually paint parts if the quantity is minimal or for special/unique products.
    • Clean spray tanks, hoses, and nozzles using solvent, brushes, and cloths and be responsible for booth cleaning.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting
    • Perform all required preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues based on experience with equipment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • 8th grade
  • Work Experience
    • Minimum 2 years prior paint experience preferred, with knowledge of environmental impact on the painting process and the ability to make changes based on environmental changes.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification.
  • Environmental and Physical Demands
    • Large machinery and equipment used in work areas, with a possibility of cuts, scrapes, or bruises.
    • Moderate exposure to dust, noise, solvent, heat, paint, and lubricants, as well as glue, solvent, heat, paint, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
    • Constant mental and visual alertness required to avoid potential serious injury to self and others in all work groups.
    • Eye protection required, with hearing protection may be required.
    • Moves and may lift materials and/or products weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more (assistance given with heavier objects).
    • Walks, bends, twists, turns, reaches, and lifts while performing functions of the position.
    • Standing required for extended periods.
    • Work requires regular repetitive arm and hand movement.
    • May be required to climb stairs and ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Skills
    • Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production systems to complete job duties, along with the respective technology tools, e.g., personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.
  • Quality Control
    • Ability to use precision measuring gauges to ensure quality parts.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and make equipment adjustments if defects arise.
