Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Anesthesiology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our medical staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operations of our inpatient acute pain service, including performing consultations, coordinating with interdisciplinary services, and educating residents, students, and nurses.
- Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities, substance abuse histories, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain conditions.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient coding for effective billing, complete patient medical reports, and manage inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Ability to quickly master all aspects of a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must be HIPAA compliant at all times.
- NP - Nurse Practitioner licensure upon hire.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently, as well as pushing, pulling, and climbing occasionally. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations is essential.
