About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer Associate to join our team at the Flood Control District of Maricopa County. As an Engineer Associate, you will play a vital role in conducting fundamental to advanced engineering analyses and research, ensuring compliance with established restrictions, codes, and permit requirements in project designs.

About the Role

As an Engineer Associate, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing, reviewing, and approving designs, models, plans, and/or permits to ensure they meet District or regulatory standards
  • Managing consultant contracts in the design and construction documents preparation for projects. Coordinate activities between various internal and external customers, county departments, and regulatory agencies to ensure deliverables meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Performing research and data gathering of technical datasets, historical information, and current projects to provide technical support and in response to requests from internal and external groups
  • Preparing and completing comprehensive engineering, progress, and metric reports
  • Performing construction inspections and approving field/plan changes that impact District structures
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Four years of professional pre-registration civil engineering or hydrology experience
  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training may substitute for the aforementioned experience, OR Four years of experience performing technical engineering work
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related engineering discipline such as, but not limited to, civil, environmental, geology, hydrology, water resources, or geography
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $63,750 - $104,000 annually, based on equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. Additionally, we offer a range of benefits, including:

Working Conditions

This role requires:

  • Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
